Now, another source reiterates this Samsung is working on its ‘triple screen’ foldable device.

Huawei beat Samsung to power in the device niche three times with the launch Huawei Mate XT. This was a coup that reflects the current state of the South Korean giant, a pioneer and leader in the segment of foldable screens. In recent years, the brand has been complacent, allowing other companies to outdo them in terms of innovation. However, this year’s disappointing financial results in several divisions are prompting Samsung to turn things around.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 may receive a triple variant in 2025

This time it’s yeux1122m, a South Korean blogger, mentioning the company’s upcoming product. The source claimed Ship that Samsung will launch a “Fold 7 Variant (Triple)” which refers to the device having three display sections. Although people commonly refer to them as “tri-folds”, this term is not technically correct. After all, there are really only two hinges. Anyway, the report says that the smartphone will arrive next year.

According to a recent report, the “tri-fold” device will only fold inwards. This is different from Huawei’s approach where one side folds inwards and the other outwards, taking on a ‘zig-zag’ form factor as you fold/unfold it. If this is indeed the case, the South Korean giant’s device will require an additional display to allow use while folded. Huawei’s form factor allows a section of the foldable inner display to be available when folded.

The Exynos-powered Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is reportedly in the works

The report includes more information about Samsung’s foldable phone lineup for 2025. The company could launch a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE as a more affordable version of its next-generation clamshell mobile device. The device could run on the company’s Exynos 2500 chip. Finally, like the current Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could receive a special edition.
