WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – Alabama law enforcement officials say a pedestrian was killed Wednesday, Nov. 20, when he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 5 in Alabama.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 6:20 p.m

That’s when authorities say a 2010 Toyota Prius driven by Justin M. Dodd, 41, of Tuscaloosa, struck Monroe S. Wessler Jr., 65, of Cordova.

Authorities say Wessler was in the roadway when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened on Alabama 5 near mile marker 161, about three miles north of Dora in Walker County.

Police say no additional information is available at this time. ALEA continues the research.
