Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Teaneck Thursday night.

On Thursday, just before 7 p.m., the Teaneck Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian standing in the roadway on Cedar Lane near the intersection of Lincoln Place in Teaneck.

Upon arrival, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, officers determined that the individual had been struck by a vehicle, which had left the scene of the collision.

The pedestrian was taken to Holy Name Hospital and pronounced dead. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to the prosecutor’s office.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Teaneck Police Department.
