Grand Theft Auto 6 it will be “absolutely amazing,” according to someone working on the game.

The highly anticipated one Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released sometime in 2025. However, it’s been almost a year since publisher Rockstar shared the game’s first and only teaser trailer.

Eleven years have passed since then Grand Theft Auto 5 was released, so it’s no surprise that the sequel won the Most Wanted Game trophy at the Golden Joystick Awards last night (November 21).

Accepting the honor, Rockstar CEO David Manley (via GamesRadar): “There’s an incredible amount of people doing amazing things on Grand Theft Auto 6, absolutely amazing things. So it’s an honor to be able to come here and accept this award on behalf of everyone. I wish there were more of us here. Thank you all so much and yes, there will be more to come.”

Earlier this month, a former developer who worked at Grand Theft Auto 6 claimed it would “blow people up”.

“You just have to look at how every game Rockstar has made has evolved in some way. People will talk about it for years afterwards, as they did with GTA 5 and I’m really, really excited for people to get their hands on it and play it, just because I think[Rockstar]has raised the bar again,” they said.

However, earlier this year, another former developer said that fans could be “disappointed” with GTA 6 after a wait of 11 years. “I don’t think it’s going to be hugely different from GTA 5.” In August, Rockstar confirmed the game had yet to be released sometime in 2025, despite rumors of a delay.
