The incident involved two local drivers.

Police said: “It is with great sadness that we can now confirm the death of the driver, 59-year-old James Errol Tahsin, from fatal injuries.

“We would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr Tahsin.”

Police said Mr Tahsin’s family were being supported by officers.

“We ask that the public refrain from speculating about the circumstances of the collision and ask that everyone’s privacy be respected at this time.”

Police added that “the driver and passenger of the second vehicle are cooperating fully with police.”
