A pair of tuxedo cat siblings have died in separate road accidents at Marine Parade within days.

The first cat – BatBat – died on November 16 after allegedly being hit by a vehicle.

And just two days later, his brother died in the same way, in the same place.

The series of tragic events was shared on Facebook by the cat community page, The cats on Terasa Marinai.

Feeders are currently looking for witnesses or photos and videos of the incidents.

The first death

On November 16, BatBat was allegedly hit by a car and died around midnight.

Witnesses saw a car driving “very fast” along the road and hitting the tuxedo cat, according to the post.

But when confronted by passers-by, the driver reportedly insisted he did not hit the cat and appeared angry.

A police report was filed after a witness said the driver “intentionally (accelerated).”

The foster carers then expressed their desire to find his brother a home “so he can avoid the same fate” and asked potential adopters or adopters to come forward.

The second death

But on November 18, just two days later, BatBat’s brother died in another evening traffic accident.

He had not eaten and was looking for his brother for the past few days, the post said.

Earlier that evening, his feeder was “very happy” to see him walking towards her and eating his dinner.

But about half an hour later, as she was feeding other cats nearby, she heard a commotion.

He went and saw the cat’s body lying on the road.

“We’re not sure what made him come back to the same place and meet with a car accident. We are still trying to find out from people around what exactly happened,” the page said.

They added that they had just found an adopter or adopters for the grieving cat and were “so close to bringing him back.”
