New evidence including photos in Renukaswamy murder case complicates actor Darshan’s defense – Karnataka News

The Renukaswamy murder case has taken a critical turn as a supplementary chargesheet against prime accused actor Darshan and his associates has been completed and is set to be filed in court today. The document, which exceeds 1,000 pages, is expected to bolster the prosecution’s case with compelling technical and forensic evidence.

The charge sheet includes more than 20 pieces of evidence, including forensic reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory. According to sources, the findings will strengthen the charges against Darshan, further complicating his legal defence.

Among the most damning evidence is a series of photographs recovered from witness Puneet’s mobile phone. These include a picture showing Darshan at the scene of the crime, dressed in a blue T-shirt and jeans. Forensic experts have also retrieved previously deleted footage, providing additional information about the events surrounding the crime.

A total of eight pictures were recovered, featuring Darshan and co-accused Jagga, Anukumar and Ravishankar. Some of the photos, taken after the murder, include shots in front of a Wrangler linked to one of the accused.

Meanwhile, a single-judge bench headed by Justice Vishwajit Shetty of the Karnataka High Court heard the regular bail pleas of Darshan, Pavitra Gowda and six other accused on Thursday. The hearing was adjourned to November 26.

On November 19, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda announced that an appeal would soon be filed in the Supreme Court challenging the interim bail granted to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.

The 47-year-old actor got relief from the Karnataka High Court on October 30, allowing him to undergo spine surgery. He was imprisoned for over four months before being released on medical grounds. Dayananda confirmed that the appeal process is ongoing and the matter will be addressed at the earliest.
