Nashville man accused of shooting pregnant girlfriend now linked to pool party

A man jailed for allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend now faces additional charges after police said ballistics science and license plate readers helped link him to a July shooting at an apartment complex pool in Nashville.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) reports that 18-year-old Davin Denson Jr. is believed to be the shooter who opened fire at a July 11 pool party in Cambridge at the Hickory Hollow Apartments. At that time, a 16-year-old girl was hit in the back by gunfire. Police say Denson Jr. got out of a car driven by 18-year-old Sujoy Guha-Perry and started shooting at the partygoers.

Denson Jr. he was already in prison for allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend in October. The gun recovered by police was analyzed and found to be the same gun used in the pool party shootings. Video from the scene also helped identify him and Guha-Perry, as did a license plate reader from the scene of the pool party shooting.

Denson Jr. already faces attempted murder charges for shooting his girlfriend and now faces five counts of aggravated assault, one count of reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon for the pool party shooting. Guha-Perry faces five counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment.
