BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Boardman man reported to police that he received a Florida toll bill after a license plate camera took a picture of his license plate on another vehicle.

The man said he took the personalized license plate off a vehicle he sold in September and put the plate in the garage for safekeeping, but the same plate appeared on a Florida toll camera on Oct. 17.

The man received a letter from the Florida Department of Transportation saying the driver with that license plate had failed to pay the toll. When the man received the letter, he went out to the garage to check the license plate and said it was missing. He thinks someone took it.

Florida Sunpass Customer Service advised the man to file a police report and enter the plate as stolen.

The man said he still has the rear license plate of the car he sold and it is the front plate he believes was stolen from his garage.
