Amman, November 21 (Petra) — Temperatures in Jordan are forecast to remain close to seasonal averages on Thursday, with mild conditions in most areas and warmer weather in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba. Scattered clouds are expected at various altitudes, accompanied by moderate southwest to southeast winds, according to the Meteorological Department.
The report indicated a slight rise in temperatures on Friday. Mild weather will prevail in most regions on Friday and Saturday, while the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba will experience warm conditions. Clouds are expected at mid to high altitudes with moderate southeasterly winds continuing.
On Sunday, Jordan will be affected by a relatively cool and moist air mass linked to a low pressure system centered over Syria. This will lead to a noticeable drop in temperature, with relatively cool and partly cloudy conditions in most areas. Intermittent rain showers are expected in parts of northern and central regions, while moderate to strong westerly winds may cause dust storms in desert areas.
The forecast high and low temperatures for today are as follows: East Amman will be 20C and 11C, West Amman 18C and 9C, Northern Highlands 17C and 8C, Sharah Highlands 16C and 7C, Dead Sea 27C and 16 C and Aqaba 28 C and 17 C.
