Air pollution in Haryana: Physics classes in higher education institutions are suspended till November 23

GURGAON: After suspending physics classes in schools, the government has now suspended physics classes in higher education institutions in the NCR districts of Haryana – Gurgaon, Faridabad and Sonipat.
The Joint Coordination Director for the Directorate of Higher Education issued a directive on Wednesday to suspend physical classes at all educational institutions.

“All the higher educational institutions of the state of Haryana in the districts – Gurgaon, Faridabad and Sonipat – are hereby directed to ensure discontinuation of physical classes and will go to online mode of classes till November 23,” the order said.

Unlike Tuesday’s directive on the suspension of physics classes in schools, which stated that physics classes will remain suspended until further notice, physics classes in colleges and universities will remain suspended until November 23. According to the official, further decisions will be taken based on the prevailing situation and air quality index.
Meanwhile, the Gurgaon district administration on Wednesday issued another notice for staggered timings at corporate offices.
The notice, issued by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar on Tuesday, refers to the Air Quality Management Commission’s GRAP IV notice, which stated that administrations in NCR districts can appeal to allow public, municipal and private offices to operate at 50% capacity, the rest working from home.
In Wednesday’s notice, the administration noted that it was directed by the Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and adjacent areas that, in an effort to prevent further deterioration of air quality, all actions provided for in stage IV of the GRAP. – “severe” air quality to be seriously implemented by all involved agencies in the RCN.
β€œIn view of the above, all private institutions and corporate offices in Gurgaon district are advised to consider staggered office hours for their employees and thereby help in effective implementation of GRAP measures aimed at sustaining and improving quality the air. in the region,” said the order issued by Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar.
