Metro Police said a teenager shot the victim twice after a physical struggle.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the shooter took off and the victim was taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics, where he died. Jasper Hendricks works nearby and shared a video of the incident.

“The victim was on a gurney and the EMTs were rushing because they were running, everyone was moving very fast,” he said.

Tuesday’s violent act is just one of many.

Friday morning, MNPD said a a man stabbed a woman to death at a Harding Place bus stop.

Hendricks said this happens too often, especially at the downtown bus station.

FOX 17 News asked a WeGo spokesperson why no safety measures were taken after the ongoing WeGo violence, and he told us they’ll have more on that later in the week before they close.

Metro Police did, however, address security concerns for the downtown bus station.

“WeGo has a lot of security officers that are here and present,” said Brooke Reese, MNPD spokeswoman. “One of the security guards was there in the presence of these youths when the shooting ended,” she said.

Some riders aren’t convinced.

“Right now, I’m just worried about everyone’s safety,” Tinsley said.
