2 Arrested After Roseville Attack, Detroit Car Chase, Police Say

Two men suspected in a Macomb County shooting were arrested Tuesday in Detroit after leading police on a car chase, officials said.

Michigan State Police troopers on patrol around 10 p.m. were alerted to a police car chase in Detroit. Detroit officers were chasing a Chrysler 300 as its occupants were wanted in connection with an attack in Roseville, authorities said.

Officers went to the last known location of the suspect car to assist and locate the vehicle, officials said. They attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, police said.

They gave chase but lost the suspect vehicle in the area of Seven Mile and Kelly roads, investigators said.

Troopers and police searched the neighborhood and found him parked on the side of the road near the intersection of Liberal and Redmond streets on Detroit’s east side.

Police approached the vehicle and two men inside got out and ran, police said.

Authorities cordoned off the area and a canine unit was brought in to search for the suspects. Officials said the police dog found both men, a 20-year-old and an 18-year-old. Both were arrested, the MSP said.

“Both suspects have been turned over to the Roseville Police Department,” Michigan State Police spokesman 1st Lt. Mike Shaw said in a post on X. “We will also seek charges for the driver for fleeing to avoid the police. by all three departments to get these dangerous people off the street.”
