Early morning crash under investigation

MANATEE, Fla. (WWSB) – A Bradenton man turned himself in after hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene of an accident. The crash happened early yesterday morning around 6 a.m. at US 41 and 30th Avenue West in Bradenton.

According to the release, the pedestrian was trying to cross lanes on 41st and that’s when the driver, 48-year-old Juan Nopal, collided with the pedestrian and fled the scene. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Juan Nopal was arrested for driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury.

He was booked into the Manatee County Jail.

The accident remains under investigation.
