A total of 162 senators voted in favor of the bill, one opposed it and none abstained. The law will enter into force ten days after its official publication.

People found guilty of promoting voluntary childlessness will be fined up to 100,000 rubles ($1,000). Officials can be fined up to 200,000 rubles ($2,000), while legal entities could be fined up to one million rubles ($10,000) and could also be subject to an administrative suspension of operations for up to 90 days.

Propaganda targeting minors, as well as the use of online platforms, will result in higher penalties. The maximum fine of five million rubles ($50,000) will be imposed on organizations that promote a childless lifestyle among minors through the Internet or media outlets.
