Devils players participate in Movember | CHARACTERISTIC

“This is my 13th year doing this,” Dillon said of his participation. “It’s a lot of fun. It’s the one month a year when we can raise awareness for something that’s important around the world. We have a bunch of guys that contribute, guys that can’t step it up. Some guys have sharpened them, some guys are still working on them, so it’s been fun.”

Seeing his players and the entire sport of hockey participate is something Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe appreciated at Movember.

“I think it’s great,” Keefe said. “You look around the league, I think our sport in particular has grown in that. Some guys it’s also a little more personal or it can leave them with a much better mustache than others and they’re willing to do it. I think it’s a great awareness and I really like how he’s embraced our sport.”

In the poll of who had the best mustache among the three official participants, one player initially opted out.

“I cheated a little bit with mine,” Dillon laughed. “I think I started it at the beginning of October to try and make sure I could keep up with everyone. But I will vote for myself.”

“I would say Dillon,” Hischier said initially. After learning that Dillon started raising him in October, the vote changed.

“That’s a disqualification, yes,” Hischier said with a smile.
