BALTIMORE, MD — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that critically injured a 15-year-old in central Baltimore.

The shooting occurred on Monday, Nov. 11, at approximately 3:22 p.m., when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. Police found the victim, a 15-year-old boy, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Central District detectives determined the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery. The 14-year-old suspect surrendered at the Central District Police Station on Saturday, November 16. He was transported to the Central Booking Center and charged as an adult with attempted first degree murder.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, while the victim remains hospitalized.
