Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in broad daylight before fleeing the scene on foot.

CCTV footage has been released of a man who police would like to speak to in connection with a reported sexual assault on Tuesday, July 8 at 2.51pm in Matilda Street, Sheffield.

Extensive inquiries have been made by the force as part of their investigation into the incident.

CCTV trawls, forensic tests and searches of the area were undertaken to establish the circumstances and find the person responsible.

Inquiries remain ongoing but officers are keen to identify the man in the footage as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

The man is described as white, aged in his 20s to early 30s, of slim build and 5ft 8in tall. He wears gray pants and a light blue hoodie with tie dye.

South Yorkshire Police asked anyone with information to contact them online or by calling 101.
