Six masked bikers tried to rob a petrol pump attendant, Sonu (28), who was commuting on the College Road railway bridge around 10.30pm last night. Having no cash, the attackers seriously injured him and fled. Today he was admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

City-1 police said the forensic report has been received and the statement of the injured youth will be recorded for further action.

The victim said that he was returning to his Waryam Nagar residence after duty hours at a petrol pump which is a few meters away from the police station.

At around 10.30pm, when he reached the College Road bridge, six masked men on two bicycles were standing there. They forcibly stopped his bicycle and demanded money.

When he explained that he had no cash, the miscreants attacked and seriously injured him and fled. He somehow got home after which his family took him to the hospital today.
