A police officer shot and killed a dog that allegedly attacked two people and two officers in Roxbury, according to Boston police.

Officers responded to a report of a dog attacking two people at 35 Dennison St. around 4:29 p.m. Monday.

“The BPD FDIT and Homicide Squad were requested for an officer discharging his firearm at a dog that attacked two people,” Boston police said in a statement.

Both victims – believed to be the dog’s owners – were bitten by the dog and taken to a local hospital.

One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
