One person has died in Berkshire County after being struck by a vehicle.

The crash happened around 5:12 p.m. Sunday on Route 8 near the border between Adams and North Adams.

The pedestrian had parked his car and was crossing the street to enter the Bounti-Fare restaurant, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. It was dark outside at the time of the crash.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Name withheld pending family notification.

The driver was not under the influence of alcohol, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
