BROOKHAVEN, Ga. – New video captured by police cameras and drones shows Brookhaven officers chasing a burglary suspect.

Officials say the theft happened Nov. 5 at the Target off North Druid Hills Road.

While loss prevention officers at the store detained the man, the Brookhaven Police Department says he fled when officers arrived on scene.

The department used drones to track the man as he ran and jumped fences near the new campus at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Officers were able to arrest him in a nearby parking lot.

“Smart choice,” the officer is heard telling the man in the body camera footage.

Investigators have not released the man’s name or what he will be charged with.
