NJ man admits to sexually assaulting sleeping woman at Atlantic City bus terminal

A 56-year-old Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault stemming from a 2022 attack at the city’s bus terminal, authorities said.

Eric Williams admitted Wednesday that he sexually assaulted a woman in the lobby of the Atlantic City bus terminal on May 19, 2022.

Authorities said the woman was asleep during the attack, which was captured on terminal surveillance camera, leading to Williams’ arrest.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, prosecutors are recommending a sentence of 12 years in New Jersey State Prison, with Williams required to serve 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

After his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be on parole supervision for life. Sentencing is scheduled for March 19, 2025, before Judge Pamela D’Arcy.

The investigation was conducted by the New Jersey Transit Police Department, the Atlantic City Police Department and the district attorney’s office.
