    You peddle economic fantasies, purge yourself of petty politics – Onanuga attacks Atiku

    Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has slammed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, saying he is peddling economic fantasy and needs to purge himself of petty politics.

    Recall that there have been exchanges between the presidency and Atiku over the weeks after he proposed solutions to the country’s economic challenges.

    The former vice president had last week said he cannot be envious of Tinubu because he is causing pain to Nigerians.

    Onanuga, in a statement on Sunday, reiterated that Nigerians rejected Atiku and his ideas during the 2023 presidential election.

    “Atiku’s criticisms of Tinubu’s presidency are mere absurd propositions devoid of realistic alternatives.

    “He must reckon with the decades of mismanaged economy inherited by the current administration, including exorbitant subsidy spending, which far exceeds the government’s crude oil revenues,” he said.

    According to the presidential aide, Atiku’s economic proposals fail to present a viable alternative to Tinubu’s decisive reforms, adding that the former vice president should repair his reputation as a statesman.
