A car and trailer collided Monday morning.

It is understood the car and the tow truck collided on the Durban-bound side near the Broadway off-ramp.

ALS paramedics say a man, believed to be a passenger in the car, has died after being seriously injured.

Another person was treated for minor injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities have advised motorists to avoid the route to Durban as emergency crews are still busy at the scene.
