China’s power output maintains steady growth in October

China’s power output maintained steady growth in October, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed last Friday.

Crude coal production rose 4.6% from a year earlier to 410 million tonnes, while crude oil production rose 2.5% from a year earlier to 17.77 million tonnes .

China imported 46.25 million tons of crude coal last month, up 28.5 percent from last year, while crude oil imports fell 8.7 percent to 44.7 million tons.

Natural gas production saw rapid growth last month, with output rising 8.4 percent to 20.8 billion cubic meters. The growth rate experienced an acceleration of 1.6 percentage points compared to September.

In October, the country’s electricity output reached 731 billion kilowatt-hours, marking a 2.1 percent annual increase, the data showed.
