BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBMA) — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning, November 17th.

According to BPD, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 1000 block of Huffman Road.

BPD says when they arrived on scene, they observed an unresponsive male near several businesses in the area.

The victim was transported to UAB with life-threatening injuries.

The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office notified BPD at approximately 3:00 p.m. Sunday that the victim had died from his injuries.

No one is in custody at this time.
