The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect and issued an arrest warrant in Saturday’s shooting on North Curlew Road.

Here’s what we know now.

The victim is in stable condition but suffered life-threatening injuries

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 4:20 p.m., deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 500 block of North Curlew Road in Salisbury for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately secured the scene and performed life-saving measures until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim was transported to TidalHealth, where he is currently listed in stable condition despite suffering life-threatening injuries.

Through a coordinated investigation, deputies and detectives with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau identified the suspect as Dequan Maurice Bratten, a 32-year-old Salisbury resident. An arrest warrant has been issued for Bratten.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Bratten. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office directly, call Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776 or use the Sheriff’s Office app to submit anonymous tips.
