Stafford man charged after rent dispute turns violent

Stafford, VA – Early Thursday morning, a Stafford man was arrested following a violent dispute with his roommate over a disagreement over rent.

Deputies KP Hall and MA Holub were on Shaw Court around 3:02 a.m. when they heard loud noises and someone calling for help from a residence. Deputies promptly responded to the scene to investigate the disturbance.

Inside the residence, deputies found two men, including Mychal Tamillow, who was allegedly intoxicated. Tamillow confronted his roommate about the rent issues, which escalated when he broke down a bedroom door, assaulted the roommate and demanded money. The confrontation was stopped when deputies intervened.

Tamillow faces charges of burglary with intent to commit a felony, attempted robbery and assault and battery. He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.
