BALTIMORE, MD — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 11 shooting of a 15-year-old in central Baltimore.

Police say the suspect shot the victim multiple times during an attempted robbery in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. The shooting happened around 3:22 p.m. and was initially detected by a ShotSpotter alert.

Responding officers found the injured 15-year-old in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he continues to receive medical care.

On November 16, the 14-year-old suspect surrendered at the Central District Police Station. Authorities later transported him to the Central Booking Center, where he was formally charged.

No other details about the case, including updates on the victim’s condition or the suspect’s legal proceedings, have been released.
