Maldini, Vieri and the stars of the 2006 World Cup expected in Italy-France

Paolo Maldini, Christian Vieri, Giorgio Chiellini and a large cast of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad are expected to take part in Sunday night’s exciting Nations League match against France at the San Siro.

A star-studded line-up of Azzurri legends is expected to take part in the Italy-France match, which features the same two nations as the 2006 World Cup final.

Of Italy’s World Cup-winning squad, Gianluigi Buffon will be there, of course, given his role in Luciano Spalletti’s backroom staff. Daniele De Rossi will also be there, as well as Maldini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Oddo and Cristian Zaccardo.

Vieri, Chiellini, Roberto Donadoni, Mauro Tassotti and Fabio Capello are also expected to take part.

Several non-playing stars of the current Serie A scene are also expected to be at the San Siro, including Inter president Beppe Marotta and Milan adviser Zlatan Ibarhimovic. Former Milan CEO and current Monza boss Adriano Galliani will also be there, fittingly Sky Sports Italy.

Italy-France will be played in front of a crowd of around 68,000 in a sold-out San Siro.
