The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a child who was abducted yesterday (November 15) from the medical staff quarters of Azimpur in the capital during a robbery.

The main suspect in the case has been arrested from Mohammadpur, ASP Mottajul Islam, press officer of RAB’s legal and media wing, said this morning (November 16).

He said a press conference will be held at Karwan Bazar media center around 12.30 pm today where the details of the rescue operation will be shared.

Earlier, robbers abducted the child after looting Tk 1.5 lakh in cash and four bhors of gold ornaments from the residence of Farzana Akhtar, an employee of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in Azimpur Medical Staff Quarters on November 15 .

The incident took place in the morning, when a group of robbers stormed the house.

Farzana lives there with her husband and child, police and family sources confirmed.
