Wanted fugitive arrested after standoff in east Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Friday around 1:09 p.m., Colorado Springs Police, K9s, Tactical Enforcement units and drone units were dispatched to a home with a wanted fugitive inside.

Colorado Springs police said they responded to the 4200 block of Pioneer Creek Drive near N Carefree Circle and Markshefel Road to find wanted fugitive Brandon Vigil. The police established the lockdown in the area.

Police said Vigil tried to leave the home where police tried to contact him, but he ran back inside.

Vigil barricaded himself in portions of the house and refused to leave after several commands to do so. Police said they conducted phone negotiations and eventually Vigil surrendered.

Police said no law enforcement personnel or Vigil were injured during the confrontation.
