F1 film maker reveals how Lewis Hamilton drove up production cost

Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the future F1 film, he pointed out Lewis Hamiltonthe impeccable attention to detail that not only added to the film’s authenticity, but also increased the production costs. In the main roles Brad Pitt and is set to be released on June 25, 2025, the film promises to provide an engaging and realistic portrayal of a Formula 1 season.

The film placed a strong emphasis on authenticity, with Hamilton, the film’s co-producer, tasked with ensuring that it remained in touch with the reality of Formula 1. Filming took place over several Grand Prix weekends, where a fictional team was seen and in action with a look-alike Formula 1 car and a proper crew. Through the film, Bruckheimer aims to present the challenges of a demanding F1 season that a Formula 1 driver faces.

Bruckheimer cites an example that represents the attention to detail in the film, allowing Formula 1 fans to connect the action on screen with real-world Grand Prix scenarios. He described a moment during filming at Silverstone when Hamilton, simply hearing the engine note, advised Brad Pitt to shift into the correct gear, ensuring the authenticity of the scene. He said:

“Lewis Hamilton saw some of that, he gave us a critique of how drivers actually do things.

“The level of detail he gave us, like at Silverstone, in Turn 3, you’re in second gear, and he could overhear that we (Brad Pitt) were in third gear.

“So that’s the kind of thing he brings to the film and he said … when they finish a race, especially like Singapore where it’s really hot, they can barely get out of the car, they lose 10 pounds. . and it’s not just him, it’s everyone.

“They are completely exhausted (and) we will show what it takes to be an F1 driver.”

The 81-year-old producer admitted that while incorporating feedback from the seven-time world champion often came with increased costs, he appreciated Hamilton’s dedication to making the film as authentic as possible. Bruckheimer added:

“Everything he brought to this film, I can’t even express our thanks to him and everyone at F1 who made it all possible.

“But the authenticity that it brings, we just can’t imagine what goes into what a driver does and what the sport brings to the public.

“Sometimes we don’t like to hear some of the things he says because it costs us more money to fix things, but we’re all in, we want to make everything great and he’s definitely helping us.”
