Abraham Lucas and DK Metcalf return for the Seahawks’ Week 11 matchup vs. 49ers

For Lucas, one of the biggest challenges of his time off, aside from the physical work itself, was some of the misinformation circulating about his injury and the timetable for his return, leading some people to believe that he behind schedule when it wasn’t. that’s really not the case.

“I think the most annoying part for me was probably, how do I put it bluntly, that there were a lot of people around me who thought they knew what happened, who didn’t know what happened, and yet no one really knew what happened happened, because I never said anything,” Lucas said. “But people jumped to conclusions, and with that comes a lot of questions that people have that I don’t answer because I don’t want to answer them.”

Asked if this led to the perception that his recovery time was delayed, Lucas said: “Spoiler, I wasn’t.”

Lucas later added: “The injury itself was a bit strange. The way it happened and the way it came out was a little weird, I guess. It didn’t come all of a sudden and it’s not chronic – for anyone who thinks it’s chronic because people have told me that – it’s not a chronic injury but it’s fixed and I’ve been rehabbing so I’m still on the right track.” .

And the hope is that following surgery and this rehab process, the injury will be behind him, although Lucas knows nothing is guaranteed in this sport, especially health.

“Hopefully (the injury is behind me), that was the point (of the operation),” he said. “But we will go from here, we will continue to improve, and fingers crossed, God willing, nothing like this will ever happen again and my career is injury free. I know those chances are kind of slim because it’s a violent game. Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes (things) happen and you can’t really control them, but I’m staying positive, I’m getting better.”
