Man arrested for sexually assaulting teenager in Norfolk, police say

NORFOLK, Neb. (KOLN) – A man accused of sexually assaulting a Norfolk teenage girl was arrested Thursday.

Norfolk police took a report of a sexual assault from a 14-year-old girl just before 8:50 p.m. The victim told the officer she was sexually assaulted by David Davis, 36, of Sioux City, Iowa, on Wednesday and provided details about the incident.

A resident of the home contacted Davis by phone and agreed to meet her at a specific location. Police said Davis made comments referencing sexual assault during the conversation.

A detective went with the resident to the location to meet Davis. Police said when Davis arrived, he saw the detective and ran.

Davis was arrested a short time later on suspicion of first degree sexual assault of a minor and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
