Sparks man sentenced to life for molestation and recording of child abuse

A Sparks man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of molesting a child.

A jury previously convicted him of 13 counts, including multiple counts of lewdness with a child under 14, lewdness with a child under 16 and secretly recording sexual abuse.

Robert Rosales-Barrios, 57, was arrested in 2022 after a 15-year-old victim disclosed that the defendant had inappropriately touched her since she was 11 years old. During the investigation, Reno Police Department detectives learned that Rosales-Barrios had secretly recorded many of the documents on his cell phone.

Rosales-Barrios will be eligible for parole after 58 years.
