Warning: Lots of spoilers for the November 13 episode ahead.

You have fans CBS‘ “Summit“He had to say goodbye this week to a contestant he hates to love and loves to hate.

This week’s episode, which aired on TV on Wednesday, was available for Paramount+ subscribers on Thursday morning, saw competitors cross an Arctic lake in kayaks and hold their body weight to cross a ravine in a zipline-style challenge.

nurse in Indianapolis Dennis Cho — who has given himself the nickname “The Korean Cockroach” — had already faced possible elimination three times this season, including a tense discussion last week that pitted Amy Stephens, a 46-year-old bank manager from South Carolina. This week, Stephens nominated Cho for elimination and vice versa.

Also up for elimination was Jeannie Geyer, a 56-year-old Trader Joe’s employee from New York who was automatically listed for elimination after failing the gravity line challenge.

“(Amy) clearly came through for me, so it makes sense,” Cho told fellow contestants as they awaited the voting discussion with host Manu Bennett.

Stephens didn’t mince words: “(Dennis) did very well with his back against the wall the whole time,” she said. “But I just have closer relationships with other people who have been in leadership positions and proven to be, in my eyes, more trustworthy”.

Cho satisfied his case. “I think this is the fourth time I’ve been on the hot seat,” he said, “and what I can say is that I’ve never changed my behavior, even though I’ve been on the hot seat from time to time. and i never will This is the person I am and I think that says a lot about me.

In Episode 1, Cho made it clear that his strategy was to do whatever it takes to have a chance at the $1 million prize: “Right now, I’m here for the money. My strategy will be to win the people, to make the people. they laugh, but they don’t realize that I’m willing to accept manipulation, deception, and deception to the fullest.”

No one voted for Geyer’s removal. In the end, Cho was the only person to vote for Stephens’ removal. All the other contestants — except for Geyer, who didn’t get to vote — voted to send him packing.

In an interview with the producers after his elimination, Cho expressed his disappointment but acknowledged the game.

“I don’t think it’s great that my alliance members turned against me because I thought they were supporting me,” he said, “but I respect the blind side.”

He continued: “I wanted the game to get dirty, I wanted to stay and make it a little dirtier. The mountain taught me that it’s okay to be misunderstood. It’s a sad moment because the Korean Beetle has been eliminated .He was trampled before he could spread his wings and fly.”
