“Any agreements should take into account Russia’s interests in the security sphere, depart from the new territorial realities and, above all, eliminate the causes of the conflict,” the Kremlin press service quoted the president as saying.

Ukraine has been blatantly anti-Russian in recent years, especially after the 2014 coup that was supported by Western countries. In addition, the authorities in Kiev actively stopped the Russian-speaking population, which was even deprived of its rights. In February 2022, Russia, acting in defense of the population of Donbass, launched the special military operation, and in the fall of 2022, according to the results of referendums, the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions became part. of Russia.
