Man killed, woman arrested in Midtown Kansas City homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police responded to a homicide in Midtown Kansas City Thursday afternoon.

The Kansas City Police Department said officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Linwood Avenue just after 1 p.m. after learning of a shooting.

Police said a woman approached them that someone had been shot and that she fired the gun.

First responders found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the business and he was pronounced dead.

The police department said the shooting happened from a parking lot that took place in the parking lot, although it is not known how the confrontation started.

UPDATE: KCPD is crediting witnesses who remained at the scene and are willing to work with officers to give statements and outline what happened and who was involved.
