Rear-end collision closes westbound K-10 south of Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – Drivers have been warned to avoid westbound K-10 south of Lawrence as crews clear the scene of a rear-end collision.

The Douglas County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office says around 4:20 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​K-10 and W. 27th St. – along South Lawrence Trafficway – with reports of a collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a rear-end collision had stopped traffic near the W. 27th St./Wakarusa traffic light. Westbound traffic has been rerouted as crews clear the scene. One person was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.

Law enforcement officials noted that those heading west on K-10 will need to detour onto Iowa St. and take an alternate route back onto the freeway to the Clinton Parkway entrance or further north.
