3 Arrested for Clint Coin Operated Car Theft

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Three people were arrested Sunday, Nov. 10, after breaking into a coin operated machine in Clint, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).

At 6:53 a.m. on Nov. 10, deputies were dispatched to Clint Laundromat, 13178 Alameda Ave., about a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle in the area matching the description provided and detained Claudia Cardenas, 37, and Lorraine Allen, 29, according to EPCSO.

EPCSO said deputies then located Jesus Vargas, 29, who was trying to hide nearby.

Surveillance footage showed all three subjects were involved in breaking into a coin machine at the business. A burglary tool and several coins were found inside the vehicle, according to EPCSO.

The three subjects were later taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center without incident.

Cardenas was charged with Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine and Failure to Identify, Providing False/Fictitious Information; Allen was charged with breaking into a coin machine; and Vargas was charged with burglary of a coin-operated machine and possession of a controlled substance, according to EPCSO.
