The Regional Observatory of Violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity has been instituted, as provided by law 37 of 2020.

“I signed the decree establishing the Observatory, which will be responsible for collecting data and monitoring phenomena related to violence against the LGBTQIA+ community. Discrimination and intolerance are fought through culture and by destroying stereotypes,” said the president of the Campania regional council, Gennaro Oliviero. The members of the Observatory are: Antonello Sannino as president Carlo Alfaro, Carlo Cremona, Federico Maria De Luca and Maria De Martino.

The first signatory of the law against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation is Loredana Raia: “Satisfied with this important milestone of civilization in our region – declares the vice-president of the council with a mandate for Equality of Chances and Gender Policies – campaign has stood out in recent years as a pioneer in the protection of civil rights. We will continue our commitment, especially in dialogue with the younger generations, to spread the culture of respect and recognition of others, collaborating with schools, local authorities and associations to achieve increasingly significant goals for a fairer and more inclusive society.
