A Cedar Rapids man who police say robbed First Ave. Wendy’s at gunpoint Tuesday was a former Wendy’s employee, according to a criminal complaint.

Jamercion Bush, 34, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree robbery, being armed with intent, being a felon in possession of a firearm and using a dangerous weapon in the commission of a felony.

According to a criminal complaint, Bush was caught on surveillance video Tuesday morning threatening employees at the Wendy’s at 1316 First Ave. NE, with a handgun. He was wearing a mask, but Wendy’s staff told police the suspect resembled Bush, a former employee. Surveillance from the surrounding area showed Bush running from the store without a mask, confirming that he was the suspect.

The bags that were stolen from the store were found in the area where Bush was driving, the complaint states.

Bush was arrested on Wednesday and had his first court appearance on Thursday. He is being held on a $35,000 bond.
