WELLINGTON, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in a rollover collision along a freeway south of Wellington.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 3:20 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 13, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​Missouri Highway 131 and Big Branch Rd., about 2 miles south of Wellington, with reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 32-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man driving a 1998 Toyota 4Runner southbound on the highway when he lost control of the SUV on the wet pavement .

State troopers said the 4Runner ran off the roadway and overturned. A 46-year-old passenger from Kansas City, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pulled over Centerpoint Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Investigators noted that the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, escaped the crash without injury. No other information has been released.
