    Traders remain confident that a further cut of a quarter point is on the way in December, even if they are less certain about what will happen in the first half of 2025.

    The market has an 82% chance of a quarter-point cut next month, up from 66% a week ago, according to CME’s FedWatch tool. This after inflation data came in as expected on Wednesday.

    However, traders are divided on how the first part of next year will play out – perhaps given the inflationary risk of some of President-elect Donald Trump’s potential policies.
