KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A shooting in south Kansas City is under investigation after a teenager died, police said Wednesday night.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department was called to the area of ​​the 7500 block of E. 85th Terrace just before 6:30 pm for a shooting.

There, police said they found a teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. The young man, “over 15 years old”, was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said no persons of interest have been identified and no one is in custody in connection with the shooting at Stonewood Apartments.

Location is just east of I-435.

The preliminary investigation led police to believe that a disturbance in the area, involving an unknown number of people, turned into gunfire and the victim was hit.
