“I can’t believe we’re back in this situation,” Ryan admitted. “It feels very real and the heart rate is jumping all over the place, which is an indication of how hard and raw everything is.”

He went on to explain that Louise had been doing “very, very well” since her previous surgery, but this was “unexpected in many, many ways and it’s a very hard pill to swallow”, adding that she spent every day in hospital . which “completely broke”.

“Her recovery has been up and down,” he went on to confirm. “After the operation, he was in septic shock, which gives you the severity of how bad things got.”

Ryan revealed that Louise is now out of intensive care, which is “a sign of progress” and they are “hopefully on the way home so she’ll be home soon”.
