The scene of the Toledo accident is not cleared, leaving the woman stranded

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo woman is stranded and so is her car.

Toledo police said a driver exiting I-475 hit another car traveling on Douglas Road on Nov. 3.

However, if you go to the same place today, it looks the same. The car is still stuck in the garage, the caution tape is still up and bricks litter the driveway.

Plus, LeAnna Burton’s car was stuck in that garage the whole time.

“It’s been a week and a half and nothing has been done,” Burton said.

Burton said without her car she can’t run basic errands, leaving her to call for a ride or a ride.

“I was seriously disturbed,” Burton said. “Not only physically, mentally and emotionally. That’s enough, and that has to be out of my backyard.”

Since the accident, Burton said she has called TPD, the city and related insurance agencies, but no one has called her back.

13 Action News called TPD and got some answers. Despite the current scene, TPD said their investigation was complete, but they were unable to tow the car from the outside due to the condition of the garage and the cars inside.

They also said this appears to be an insurance issue.

Meanwhile, Burton said the roof over her car is getting more slanted every day.

“I am disturbed once again, for an incident in which I am not even involved. I was upstairs watching TV and minding my own business,” Burton said.

She said this is not the first accident in this area and that people often speed. She wants the city to put up signs to encourage people to slow down.

In the meantime, Burton said she’s looking for anyone who can help her resolve this situation.
