An 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted after accepting a ride from an assailant who identified herself as the driver of the car on Nov. 8 around 8 a.m., police said.

The woman was at a bus stop on Goreridge Cres. and Via Romano Way in north Brampton when the driver offered the woman a ride in exchange for money.

Authorities said the driver took the woman to Clareville Conservation on Hwy. 50 and Gore Rd. where the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a South Asian man, 20-25 years old, with black hair, a beard and a medium build. He was wearing a blue or black winter jacket and black pants and was driving a black four-door Hyundai Elantra.

Police said officers believe the same suspect sexually assaulted a woman in Vaughan.

“This investigation is ongoing and there are limited facts I can share at this time as the SIU is the investigating agency. Once the SIU invokes its warrant, the information is made public by the SIU,” Bergen said in a statement Wednesday.

Bergen added that police responded after receiving a call from a resident of the building who indicated a man with a gun was at their door.

He also said, while Hamilton police released a statement on social media the night of the incident, “Hamilton police have never released any information related to an exchange of gunfire” nor have they “identified the individual with whom the officers engaged an interaction. “
